Ainuke Jutsu Do is an ancient system of combat and personal defense originated and perfected in a remote era in Okinawa, an island in the Ryukyu chain which is today part of the Japanese archipelago.
Ainuke Jutsu Do includes the study of over 600 techniques, which integrated one with the other build an extremely efficient combat and personal defense system, at the same time providing the practitioner with great mind-body balance.
The activities involve intense technical and body training that teach the practitioner to move with extreme elegance and harmony, lightness and strength. Like all other traditional martial arts, Ainuke Jutsu Do involves specific technical graded programmes, from beginners to intermediate, from advanced to superior. There are grading exams and a belt ranking system; practitioners can also train competitively, and higher levels can learn to use traditional weapons, such as the katana (the sword of the samurai).
